Objectives

Certain regulations must be observed in order to prevent dangerous goods transported by air from endangering aircraft, passengers or crew.

The Dangerous Goods Regulations for Loadmasters and Load Planners introduces the regulations concerning the transport of dangerous goods by air.

These include labelling, packaging and storage requirements and emergency response for dangerous goods.

If you pass the exam with at least 80%, you will receive a training certificate valid for 24 months.

Course content

  • Be able to identify dangerous goods.
  • Have knowledge of the origins of current regulations and general philosophy.
  • Be able to identify the classes of dangerous goods.
  • Be able to recognize and identify the hazard and handling labels applicable to dangerous goods.
  • Be able to recognize and identify the markings for use and specifications of dangerous goods packaging.
  • Be able to recognize potential hidden hazards in cargo and baggage.
  • Know storage and loading procedures.
  • Be familiar with the provisions for dangerous goods in passenger and crew luggage.
  • Be familiar with emergency response procedures relating to dangerous goods.
  • Knowledge of Notification to Captain (NOTOC).
  • Knowledge of Emergency procedures (flight crew/load planners).
