In aviation, it is mandatory to correctly understand maintenance and operation documentation to make sure that systems operate safely and correctly and with this protect human lives.

In this course, students will study and discuss vocabulary, grammar, case studies and technical procedures based on human factors and Simplified Technical English (STE). STE is an international specification for technical documentation. It provides controlled vocabulary, simplified grammar, a set of writing rules, and standardization of technical documents. It enhances safety by minimizing the risk of miscommunication in critical aerospace and defense applications.
