Target Audience

Operational staff, managers and decision-makers of organisations for whom digitisation of processes is a priority.

Objectives

Since the creation of the Customs Union in 1968, usable customs working methods and processes have been subject to significant changes, responding to increasing volumes of international trade, advanced technologies and persistent cross-border security threats.

Paper-based procedures have thus gradually been replaced by electronic ones to increase the competitiveness of businesses as well as improve security controls and optimising data exchange.

Further developing a fully electronic customs system is one of the EU’s main objectives.

During this webinar, we will take a closer look at the current IT landscape of both European and Belgian customs authorities, looking at future developments based on the European multi-annual strategic plan for electronic customs.
