  • Any person interested in Incoterms.

Objectives

In international trade, clear agreements on every detail, of the sometimes long Supply Chain, are crucial. The Incoterms chosen for a trade agreement play an important role in this.

Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) provide an exact division of tasks and responsibilities of seller and buyer in (international) trade agreements in terms of transport, import and export documents, risk and insurance. Successful importing or exporting therefore depends to a large extent on a sound knowledge of the obligations and responsibilities regarding risks and costs of deliveries.

Determining the critical point where responsibilities pass from seller to buyer is therefore of utmost importance. If the administration and delivery of goods is flawless and each party knows its duties and responsibilities, it saves a lot of trouble, wasted time and unnecessary expenses.
