Become a better manager and team leader

Leading a team and managing employees is not always easy, after all, as a manager you need to have the necessary leadership skills. Some naturally possess more of the necessary ease to motivate employees with, than others. But for everyone, it helps to be aware of your attitude and communication styles. Strengthen your skills and abilities during this hands-on leadership course.

The do’s and don’ts of leadership

During the course, we first highlight the essentials of leadership in detail. Then we go into detail about what it means to lead a team. During the third module, we put your skills into practice. We also discuss the difficulties you might encounter.

Course content

Module 1: the essence of leadership

  • Understanding different coaching styles and employee motivation;
  • Answering the dilemma ‘leading is getting the best out of people’ versus ‘putting the best of yourself into people’;
  • What is the importance for leadership of working with company values?
  • Understanding your own leadership style.

Module 2: leading a team

  • Discussion of cases focusing on the current way of working: determining do’s and don’ts;
  • The building blocks of a team: structuring your team using goals, roles, working agreements, and good relationships;
  • Managing your team: the role of the team leader, gaining interest, cooperation, and collaboration, leading meetings, work meetings, and briefings;
  • Getting your team moving: motivating and engaging.

Module 3: dealing with resistance

  • Your personality profile, strengths, and learning points when leading and communicating.
  • How do you turn resistance into cooperation?
  • How do you recognise actors who evoke frustration and self-defense?
  • How do you create a relationship of trust?
  • How do you gain insights into assertiveness and leadership?
  • How do you conduct feedback interviews?
  • Communicating professionally.
  • Gain some tools and insights based on NLP techniques.
