  • Interpreting and respecting a work permit.
  • Use of personal protective equipment and anti-fall protective equipment.
  • Scaffolding and material selection.
  • The use of ladders.
  • The definition and calculation of ‘Permissible Load’.
  • Points to consider when accessing scaffolding.
  • Influence of weather conditions.
  • Placement and erection plan.
  • Reading a scaffolding chart.
  • Safety and usage rules during assembly and dismantling of fixed, mobile and suspended scaffolding.
  • Types of components and their rejection criteria.
  • Different classes of roof edge protection.
  • Correct anchoring and anchoring plan.
  • Extensions and bridges.

PRACTICE

  • Discuss internal safety and conduct rules.
  • Discuss scaffolding materials, fittings and tables.
  • Explaining the assembly plan, anchoring plan and permissible load.
  • Check the material to be used.
  • Build a simple construction of a fixed scaffold.
  • Construct a simple rolling scaffold.
