Target Audience

This training is aimed at first intervention team members.

Objectives

As a member of the firefighting service, you will learn how to use the correct extinguishing agents and respond correctly to an incipient fire during an initial intervention.

You will also learn the necessary procedures for an evacuation and techniques to make an evacuation run smoothly.

Course content

THEORY

  • Tasks and equipment for the firefighting service.
  • Recommended selection criteria for a firefighting service.
  • The fire triangle, the origin, development and spread of a fire.
  • The different types of fires, their causes and means of control.
  • The operation and deployment range of different extinguishing agents.
  • Points of attention and prevention tasks.
  • How to act in the event of a fire, fire alarm, evacuation alarm.
  • Evacuation techniques.
  • Carrying and lifting techniques.

PRACTICE

  • Extinguishing different types of fires using the appropriate fire extinguishers.
  • The use of a fire blanket.
  • The use of a wall reel.
  • Visiting your building together with those in charge of evacuation:
    • recognising evacuation routes,
    • recognising evacuation pictograms,
    • recognising types and placement of fire extinguishers.
  • Raising the alarm efficiently.
