Target Audience

This training is aimed at people potentially exposed to ionising radiation in their professional environment according to Article 25 of the Royal Decree of 20 July 2001 (ARBIS).

Objectives

This course deals with Article 25 of the Royal Decree of 20 July 2001 on the regulation on the protection of the population, workers and the environment against the danger of ionising radiation (RGPRI).

According to this article, every worker who may be occupationally exposed to ionising radiation must receive annual radiation protection training.

This training is therefore required by law.

Course content

THEORY

  • Health hazards and possible first aid measures
  • Basic standards for radiation protection
  • Basic rules for effective protection against ionising radiation from both an individual and collective point of view
  • The meaning of warning symbols and signs
  • Workplace emergency instructions and emergency plans in force within the company
  • The importance of complying with technical and medical regulations
  • Where applicable, the safe management of high activity sealed sources and the potential risks associated with the loss of such sources

At your request, this fixed content may be supplemented by other specific topics. In each case, the training content will be tailored to your needs and to the type of ionising radiation source used in your company (use of radioisotopes, X-ray machines or others). It is also possible to present the content of the training around a current topic or a theme that interests you.
